Computer Nepali Typing Training under Vocational Service

REPORT ON VOCATIONAL SKILL DEVELOPMENT
It is to inform that Vocational Skill Development of Rotary Club of Kalimpong took
the initiative of training young men and women to teach Nepali/Hindi Typing in Computer
for 10 days i.e from 3rd Jan 2023 to 13th Jan 2023.
To make the said activity fruitful Rt Shova Pradhan approached Kalimpong Govt
College students and initially 15 students showed the interest but 14 student of Kalimpong
college and 1 Comp Engr volunteer to take part.
Teachers of Army Public School Kalimpong, Mr Priyabrat Jaiswal and Mrs Kalpana
Thapa trained the candidate and made them competent to type in Nepali.
Chairman Rotary, Bharat Mani Pradhan took some assessment to evaluate the
proficiency of the candidates and was satisfied to see the result.
Before the refreshment candidates were requested to help the club with feedback.
The candidates were overwhelmed to learn this skill as none of the Computer classes in
Kalimpong are able to teach Nepali typing said, Rita Sharma.
Another candidate, Smriti Subba said, "earlier it was so difficult to make even one
card in Nepali and it was costing a lot, now we don't need to depend on anyone".
Sulav Bhujel said that he was very weak in Nepali language but this course while
learning phonetic to type, he improve his reading and writing Nepali.
On 13 Jan 2023 Vice President Rotary Sheila Rai felicitated the candidates with
certificate and the two Teachers with an incentive of Rs 3,500/- each.
Training was closed with group photographs and refreshment. It was indeed a productive training course .
