  • • Rotary Club of Imphal (RID-3240) celebrated the 118th Rotary Anniversary of Rotary International on 23rd Feb’2023 at RCC village Takhel of Imphal East District by starting a 5-Days Vocational Training Programme (Up-Skilling Training) for 30 educated girls and housewives in association with JCRE Skill Solutions, Manipur for empowering the women. This skill training programme will promote self employment in food processing sector by imparting NSQF based UP Skilling training. The training programme will be comprised of 2 days of theoretical sessions with 3 days of hands-on practical sessions by S. Soshmita Devi as resource person.
    • Rtn. Pramod Jaiswal, President of the club, said that the first Rotary club was founded at Chicago, USA by Paul Harris, Gustavus Loehr, Silvester Schiele, and Hiram Shorey on 23rd Feb’1905. He further said that it's also observed as the World Rotary Day, a day where, we, as Rotarians, felt proud and celebrate the achievements and successes of all the Rotarians across the world for doing good things for the community. This programme is organised as a part of its golden jubilee year celebration.
    • Rtn. L. Niranjan, MD, JCRE Skill Solutions, said that after 5 days training programme on food processing, women participants will be able to prepare and maintain work area and process machineries for pickle making and maintain food safety, hygiene and sanitation for processed food products. This training programme will help in women empowerment through food processing sector.
    • A ceremonial cake cutting was also done led by the club President and the Past Presidents along with members of RC Imphal as a part of celebration of the 118th Rotary International Anniversary.
    • Later, on successful completion of the 5-days Vocational Training Programme (Up-Skilling Training) on food processing on 27th February’2023, certificates of participation were presented to all 30 participating educated girls and housewives in the at RCC village Takhel.
