Born on 1st February 1953 in Towkok TE in Erstwhile Undivided Sibsagar District Of Assam.Father Late Powal Chandra Konwar a strict disciplinarian and mother Late Dharmeswari Konwar a simple and pious lady. Second of five brothers and lone sister , all of them highly educated and in good society position.

Dr. Kirti Ranjan Dey
Born in the year 1942, Dr. K.R. Dey studied at Tinsukia, Dibrugarh and Assam Medical College. Dr. Dey joined Rotary in the year 1974. He served in all capacities in his home club – Rotary club of Tinsukia. As a Rotarian he served the Rotary in District and International level.

Rtn Uma Baruah
Rtn.Uma Baruah was born on the 5th of May, 1961 in the then erstwhile capital of Assam, Shillong. She started her schooling from Pine Mount, Shillong and graduated from Cotton College, Guwahati with honours in English. She has received her Bachelors’ in Education from the Dibrugarh University. She taught in the Delhi Public School, Digboi for 23 years. She served as the Head Mistress of the school till her retirement. She was a member of the Interact Club in Guwahati during her school days and had participated in many a program. She joined the Rotary Club of Digboi in the year 2008 and has served the club as its Secretary, Club Literacy Chair, Editor, Director Community Service, Director Public relation, President and also as the Club Trainer. She is married to Rtn Kishore Baruah, a charter member of the Rotary Club of Digboi. She has four children and two grandchildren.

Rotary International District 3240 lies in the North Eastern part of the Indian subcontinent between Nepal, China, Bhutan, Myanmar and Bangladesh.
This district is one of the largest Rotary districts in the world covering over 2,95, 607 sq. kms of land.
Closeted within these perimeters is a land of snow clad mountains, verdant hills, expansive plains, mountain streams, majestic rivers, bustling towns, idyllic hamlets and miles and miles of land carpeted by lush green tea bushes.
R.I. District 3240 is a relatively new district formed in the Year 1990 and encompasses nine states of India – Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura and eight revenue districts of West Bengal.
(Barddhaman, Birbhum, Malda, Dakshin Dinajpur, Uttar Dinajpur, Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri & Cooch Bihar). There are 97 clubs in the district with 3342 Rotarians.
